Nerja is where the mountains of the Sierra Almijara come down and meet the sea. It is a Spanish town, not a 'tourist' town, in a spectacular setting between the foothills of the mountains and the sparkling Mediterranean. A place where clear fresh mountain water flows in abundance making the village a paradise of trees, flowers and colour all year round. It lies in a region known as the 'Garden of Europe". It's an area of outstanding natural beauty and is one of Spain's richest farming areas, abundant with fruit, vegetables and flowers.
